It's nice that during the winter I can set up inside for photo shoots. Here are some we've done this season. I've been terrible at blogging as of late. I have 5 other photo shoots on the docket to be edited right now so more posts to come again... someday.

We did a quick session for some former clients who are now our good friends. We photographed them when they got married and became good friends with them. They just had a baby boy and we were excited to have them over to take some pictures of them and their cutey pie.

Another session here in our "studio"...

Their Mom wanted these in sepia as 16x20 prints for their front room. So classy, I love it!

I took "school" portraits for my nieces and nephews this year. I think I might do this again next year and open it up to anyone who wants it so keep an eye out for that if you're interested! What a bunch of good lookin' kids! Wowzas, I've got a lot of nieces and nephews! Both families have exactly 3 girls and 3 boys, what are the odds?

We had fun getting to explore different parts of the State Capital while doing the photo shoot of this family. It's always fun getting to photograph the Q family and we're glad they keep coming back to us.

Nephi and the Sword of Laban

I had the fun opportunity of photographing a musical at the Peery Egyptian Theater. What an awesome theater! It was such a fun setting for this musical, which covered the first part of the Book of Mormon. The story that most members of the church know best of all is put to life and song by Sherry Allred. It was really fun to watch, through my lens of course. I loved doing this photo shoot, editing it was fun as well because I got to re-live the musical through the pictures.

If you're familiar with the Book of Mormon you'll probably be able to tell which scenes these pictures are portraying.

I'll help out with the characters a bit:

From the left: Laman, Sariah, Sam, and Lemuel

The beautiful Sarah Allred played Nephi's wife.

Now, I LOVE how Sherry wrote this part of the musical. To depict the mists of darkness she used dancers.

And she used dancers to portray the hunting scene.

This next picture is one of my favorites. They had such great actors in this play.

Someday there will be sequels to this musical. Sherry, you're awesome! We can't wait to see what you come up with next. Oh and by the way, she's also written a book Called Corvette. Check it out!

Meet my friend Melanie, and meet her friend the Libby Gardner Hall Organ. These two have become best of friends during her studies in College. She is graduating soon and we had the privilege of doing her portraits for her senior recital.

I can't wait to hear her rock out on this beauty during her recital (am I allowed to say rock out when referring to the organ Mel?) I remember the days back when we were freshly graduated from high school and I was the ward chorister and she was the organist, I think it would be safe to say we rocked those hymns! Those songs were played the way they were MEANT to be played. :) That's MY memory at least...

Life hasn't lended itself to blogging as of recent. With a husband in full time work and school and two little boys that are full of energy I don't have a lot of time on my hands anymore. Add on top of that I am trying to finish up our website AND keep up with all the photo editing of current jobs, it leaves very little time. Good news though... the website is almost ready. I went to school with the mom of this family and we didn't even know each other! It was fun to meet her and get to know her and her husband though. They're great people. We love that about our job, we're always meeting such awesome people.

This little sweetie is only a few days older than our sweet young man. It was fun to take pictures of her. 9 months is such a fun age!

I have wanted to post this session for about a month now. I just have had such a hard time getting it done because there were SO many that I wanted to post from this session that I kept not having time.

We had so much fun with this good looking couple. They are both scientists, as funny as they are good looking. We were laughing the whole time.

We hiked in a Canyon in Centerville with them. Tiffani wanted her engagements up by this waterfall. It was flowing faster than we've all ever seen it!

You don't see a lot of guys doing this to their fiance during a photo shoot. That's Tyler for ya. :)

Kelly is such a sweet and caring young lady. She has a smile that can brighten your day. She is our niece and I'm so grateful that she is such a great cousin to our boys. Gibson 70th Wedding Anniversary

That's right. WEDDING. Not birth. I was privileged to go and capture the details, people, events, and emotions as family and friends gathered from around the country to honor this extraordinary couple. If I ever thought I had seen love demonstrated at a wedding reception, it was far surpassed at this 70th wedding anniversary.

70 + ~20 = 90+ yrs? Yep. So is this a great granddaughter...or...great x2 granddaughter? The Gibson couple embodied life and enthusiasm that I wish I could have at this time in MY life. Mr. Gibson lifted every guest he spoke with, old, young, and stranger. Every time he posed for a shot, he expressed such sincere gratitude to me for taking the shot. When I say every time, I mean every time, and it was a very long night. As the time gets longer, you usually start seeing exhaustion/irritation in peoples' body language but not in them.

I was told by children of the Gibsons the couple has made the bed together every morning as a symbol of their unity. They still hold hands everywhere they go. And kisses were given freely throughout the night.
I get the feeling there is a lot to learn from this couple about love. I would suspect that is why journalists came to the event. If you want to learn more about them, click here and here.

Doing these big group pictures is always a fun challenge, but add a foot of snow and the freezing cold, it's a whole new dimension! We did these pics in their backyard so people could stay warm inside until it was their turn. Even though I couldn't feel my fingers and toes by the end, we still had fun photographing this cute family with lots of adorable little grandkids.

We had the wonderful priveledge of photographing this wedding and reception. These two are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Even though they are the Wongs, they are totally right for each other. ;)

Such a beautiful bride.

It was fun for us to photograph the actual ceremony.

And lucky enough for us we have two cameras and were able to capture the ceremony from both sides. :)

The bride and bridesmaids held fans instead of flowers at this reception. It was a fun change.

Thes cake cutting was fun to watch and we found out afterwords that the groom didn't even know why they were doing it. He was such a good sport about it he fooled us all!

What a fun night it was! Brent did the majority of the work, I helped a bit with it all but could only do so much with being pregnant. In fact, I can probably stop mentioning that he is the one that took most the pictures. Pretty much from early this summer and on just know that he's been the lead photographer. I've taken the back seat and am happy to be doing it. Brent is an awesome photographer and he really knows how to work the camera settings. He's just not much for blogging, so I'll be the one to keep that up. :)

An exquisitely beautiful reception

I guess this picture shows how far behind we are. This reception was on a warm August summer day. Everything was decorated masterfully, even the pool.

We were so thrilled and honored to be asked to photograph this reception. I think the pictures can explain why. Brent did this one on his own and, as always, did an amazing job capturing the details that made this reception what it was.

The wedding party was made up of all the bride and grooms families. They look so great!

At long last, we are finally posting again! We ran into some big problems with our computer and haven't been able to photo edit until the end of this week. We have felt so bad for those clients that are waiting for their photos and are so grateful to them for being so understanding and patient with us. (Not to mention that it's also kinda necessary that we do it fast, because we're having a baby really soon!)

These two love birds were so fun to take photograph. Jared is a friend of mine from childhood. We grew up in the same neighborhood and would play together as kids. Stephanie and BJ were so cute together. We had so much fun at the temple and at the reception. We absolutely loved the way BJ looks at Stephanie. These two are clearly in love and clearly excited to finally be married. I especially loved that it wasn't quite so hot on this particular day in the middle of July! A blessing for a pregnant woman in her third trimester like me indeed! Brent's been slowly taking over the primary shooting and I've just been assisting with posing and flashes and only occasionally steal the camera from him because I get so itchy to take a picture. :) I'm loving his style and his attention to details. I'm going to break tradition and post pictures from the reception first. Brent did so awesome I just love them!

What a cute family this was! They were all so agreeable and easy going. Their little boy was fun to get to smile. Brent and I kept thinking how it was like seeing a little bit of what our little boy might be like in about a year. With the crazy spring weather we've been having we weren't sure how this shoot would go but we lucked out and the storm came after we were done!

One of the appealing aspects of being photographers is getting to know people really well. The positive effects they have on us are as different as their personalities. Some have a stronger impact than others, and we just love being around them!

This is Derek and Briahna. After driving out to Antelope Island together at 7:30 am and spending the better part of a Friday morning with them, we feel like we know them pretty well, and we're pretty impressed. They were easy to get to know and made it fun!

The location that Briahna picked out for this shoot had special meaning to her and her family, giving the pictures a personal touch, that I like! Derek and Briahna were spontaneous and willing to be our guinea pigs, and did anything we asked them to. They even came up with some ideas of their own! Like the tractor idea...another nice touch Derek, don't you think?

One of the twins reached out and tried to hold his brother's hand. I just thought it was so sweet.

I saw this pose done on smaller twins, but these babies are now a whopping 7 lbs so it was a tight fit but the dad managed to hold both very awake babies in his arms in this cool pose.

What a pleasure it was to meet Mom and Dad and baby Braxton a couple of weeks ago. Braxton ran a way with the cute cake and was so fun to look at during the editing process. Almost every picture of him has some kind of funny expression, or just exudes plain adorableness. We loved this family and hope to be able to see them again soon.

This little angel was just a week old when I photographed her. She was a sleepy little one and made my job really easy. She slept the entire time and would let us lay her pretty much however we wanted. Thanks for letting me take your pictures Jane, can't wait until you and my little one get to play someday!

This little 3 month old was just about the happiest little baby I've ever photographed. Her daddy came along to make her smile, and boy did it work. She only got grumpy when we made her wear her itchy blessing dress. The torture we put these poor babies through just to make them pretty :)

Anyway, she was so dang cute and smiley, once again I had a hard time choosing. So here are a bunch for your enjoyment!

This is one of my cute nieces. I just can't get over how beautiful and grown up she looks in these pictures! We went up to the Bountiful Temple for this photo shoot in March. We were laughing at her funny cute personality and I said to her mom, "We should remember this day and compare it to how she acts on her wedding day." Her mom said, "She'll be the exact same way." :)

It was fun photographing someone I love so much and am so close to. She is such a fun sweet caring niece. She always writes me the sweetest notes and she's very good at showing her love. I had a hard time narrowing it down but she's so cute I decided the blogging world wouldn't mind.:)

Her mom and I were chatting in the parking lot after we were done taking pictures. Then Charity started dancing, I still had my camera around my neck so I started snapping pictures. Charity is always dancing, so I'm glad I caught these pictures even if there are cars in the background!

Hallows Family

Once again, it has been forever since I last posted. I have a good excuse I promise. If you didn't already find out on our family blog, I'm pregnant! We're really excited to have a baby this fall, and yes I'm totally going to go crazy taking pictures of him or her. I'm finally starting to feel better as I get closer to the second trimester and I'm starting to have more energy to keep up on the little things like blogging. : ) And yes, I have a pile of dishes in the sink but oh well, those can wait.

Keep checking the blog every day because my goal is to post about a session a day for the next five days. (Yes, I am THAT behind)

So we photographed this good looking family clear back in the beginning of February up in Kaysville. Very fun photo shoot and I loved how the pictures turned out. I've been really wanting to post these for quite some time!

They all got individual portraits taken too, whether they liked it or not. :)

The Herd Family

This cute little family had me take their pictures in January. They were so nice and had a cute little girl about the same age as our son.

Things were going really well until it just all the sudden got super freezing cold. Their little one didn't like the cold and was pretty much done with pictures so I took some of just the two of them and we decided we would do more the next week when we did a photo shoot with their whole family.

So the next week we met at Memory Grove, such a beautiful place and even though it was cold, we got some cute smiles out of this cute little one.

Then the whole clan got there and we hurried and snapped a few poses before everyone froze to death.

Then we headed over to the capitol to warm up and take some pictures of individuals and smaller groups. It was a blast getting to know the entire Herd family.

"Oh the weather outside was frightful, but this wedding was so delightful"...
This beautiful couple decided to get married a few days before Christmas. The snow started to gently fall right as they were coming out of the Bountiful Temple.

"but if you really hold me tight, all the way home I'll be warm"... can you tell I've been listening to Michael Bublé today? ;)

Even though we were all freezing it was still fun to photograph this wedding. Scott and Carisa make such a cute couple and we're so happy for them!

Maynes Kids

We had the stomach flu running around our house last week when I posted the sneak peak of these kids. I had only worked a little on the pictures when I did that sneak peak. Note to self, don't photo edit when you're really sick. The creative processes don't fire as well! Anyway, I've worked on them since then and I wanted to do a new post for these cute kids!

I totally loved the color of this thing!

They each got to have their own portrait taken.

The younger boy sure had a mind of his own! He was SO dang adorable and he would do pretty much the opposite of what you wanted him to. I was going to have them stand all holding hands across the sidewalk, then he ran over and stood like this. I think he was right, it's a much cuter pose. Good call little man!

And Baby Girl got to have some pictures with her Mommy.

Seth & Julie

I think it's high time for another wedding! I think Seth and Julie agreed...

This cute couple got married on a cold sunny day near the end of November in the Provo Temple.

It's so much fun to go to weddings and see the bride and groom so in love with each other.

Later on at the reception at the Springville Museum of Art...

We met with Seth and Julie and got to know them a little better a couple weeks before the wedding. They told us the story of how they got engaged. It's a comedy of errors but one of the good things of the night they got engaged was that they had a wonderful dinner at The Chef's Table. So we borrowed a menu from the restaurant and borrowed their rings and got this shot:

The cake cutting was going well... and then Seth decided to make it a little more fun. :)

We loved getting to photograph this wedding. Thanks Seth and Julie, and congratulations!

Henrikson Family

The Henriksons were such a cute, fun family to photograph! Brent nearly got these kids rolling with some of the goofy things he was doing.

Working with my sweet husband Brent is so awesome. He has a way with people and a magic with kids. He also had this cute idea for this pose for this cute guy:

The kids were such good sports, doing all of the poses we asked them to and at all the different locations we wanted to try! Their cute 5 week old baby was even cooperative! He just slept the entire time! Oh, and just a side note to the mom, you look great, especially considering you just barely delivered!

I absolutely loved the mom's jacket and jewelry! (Being a photographer is so much fun because I get so many ideas on clothes, etc. from the people we photograph!)
